Make Your Floors Last

Follow the easy steps below so your new floors can be kept beautiful for a lifetime.

So Your Floors Just Got Done...

After one of our experts applies the final coat of protective finish to your floor, it will take 12-24 hours for it to dry, depending on the type of finish used.

Part of the reason why hardwood flooring is one of the premium options for flooring and why it increases the overall value of your house is because of its durability. To maintain your floors for as long as possible after a refinish, we recommend the following:

Master hardwood cleaning product

Use Bona Hardwood Cleaning Products

Wait 1 Month before using any cleaning products

Once the floor is fully cured, we recommend using Bona hardwood cleaning products and following the instructions carefully to make your floors last as long as possible. Sweeping with a soft bristled broom or dry microfiber mop is fine until your floor is cured.

Master Hardwood Flooring moving furniture

Be Careful When Moving Furniture

Even after your floor is cured be careful when moving heavy items

We recommend waiting at least three days before moving furniture back to your new floors and 3-4 weeks for rugs. Dragging heavy furniture or appliances is the biggest culprit of scratches, dents and gouges. Avoid dragging anything across your floors even after they have fully cured. We also recommend using felt pads at the bottom of all furniture to make your new floors last as long as possible.

Master Hardwood Flooring water on wood floors

Water Is Always Your Enemy

The protective coat only

helps so much

The longer water sits on the floor, the more likely it is to warp the planks, which cannot be fixed without removing the damaged planks and installing new boards.

As soon as you notice water sitting on the floor, clean it off with towels or a mop and place fans around the wet area to dry it as quickly as possible.
